My handwritten notes – Xth History ISC
I have made these notes and by repeated learning have been able to score well in my Xth ISC exams. Hope this helps other students as well.
Some tips:
- Create mind maps with some visuals. They could be funny, but they will help to recollect the story of that event. You’ll find many funny visuals in my notes 🙂
- For each topic, the first job is to understand the story behind it, and then in your own creative way, put down the story on paper using either mind maps, or short points or visuals, whatever works for you.
- My notes are only for reference. You must create your own notes by referring to mine. This will make the topic more interesting and it will be your own creative idea! You’ll enjoy the subject and recollecting will become easier.
- Please note, I have not followed the rote learning method. Instead I have accommodated and condensed information in a manner that appeals to me.
- I had even decided different corners of my house to recollect story. For example: The corner of my room near the temple was Dadabhai Naoroji corner. When I went to that corner, with actions I used to narrate his story (i.e. his contribution, why was he the “Grand Old Man Of India” and everything about him). Therefore, this was more like a story of his, instead learning question and answers. In this way, I utilized many corners of my room to remember points. It was a fun way to memorize History.
- Please note learning is repeated recollection of points. Therefore, repetition of these story lines is necessary in the beginning.
- Keep improving your notes. With every exam, I used to do an analysis of my mistakes and repair my notes for missing points, or highlight certain areas that I was prone to forgetting.
